The Office of Research and Projects

SIUE’s Office of Research and Projects (ORP) serves as the central resource for research and creative activities of the SIUE community in support of the University’s broader mission. ORP facilitates the conduct of sponsored research by:

• ensuring compliance with sponsor requirements, applicable regulations, and University policies from inception to closeout;
• continuously striving for more transparent and efficient processes, policies, and tools to better create a collaborative research environment
• balancing the University’s mission, the sponsor’s objectives, and the investigator’s intellectual pursuits.

Pre-Award Functions 

• Assist with proposal and budget preparation
• Provide support in the use of Kuali Research, our electronic management system
• Obtain administrative approvals
• Support submission to the agency
• Provide coordination between universities on collaborative proposals/grants
• Collect, analyze and distribute funding opportunities and related materials
• Provide external editing services for proposal submission
• Provide various workshops/faculty development initiatives related to research and ORP
