COVID-19 Assigned Research Time The Graduate School is pleased to announce a special funding program based on a recommendation from the Academic Continuity Task Force. For Academic Year 2022, the Graduate School will award up to two units of assigned time to enable assistant and associate professors to address promotion and tenure research activities that have been negatively impacted by the COVID 19 pandemic. One unit equals one course buyout or one 50% time research assistant. Applicants may request any combination of the two types of units (with a maximum of two units) within the project period of August 16, 2021 (fall 2021 semester) to May 15, 2022 (spring 2022 semester). Applications must be submitted before May 24, 2021. If requesting course buyouts, make sure you talk to your department chair prior to submission.
