11/30/2020 – 1-5pm – Introduction To SBIR/STTR Commercialization Plan - https://ilsbdc.ecenterdirect.com/events/33424
The goal of a successful SBIR/STTR project is the ultimate commercialization of the innovation, whether it be to sell to industry, consumers, or the Federal government. The SBIR/STTR agencies are placing ever-increasing emphasis on your commercialization plans in your Phase I proposal, and their expectations are even higher by the time you are submitting for Phase II. This webinar introduces a series of 10 tasks that can be followed to define important commercialization parameters for your SBIR/STTR innovation so you are ready to describe your commercialization plans in your proposal.
12/7/20 – 1-5pm - The Business Side of SBIR/STTR - https://ilsbdc.ecenterdirect.com/events/33425
Too many recipients of SBIR/STTR awards treat them as one-time injections of R&D capital, whereas these grants and contracts should be used as business development opportunities. Learn more about long-term leveraging of SBIR/STTR funding, along with other important business issues including protecting intellectual property, marketing to the SBIR/STTR agency, and setting cost proposals that grow rather than strangle your business.
The workshops are being facilitated by Jim Greenwood who has been active in the SBIR program since its inception in 1983. Greenwood has offered SBIR/STTR workshops in 48 states and at the National SBIR Conferences, is an SBIR/STTR reviewer for the National Science Foundation (NSF), and has critiqued over 1,000 SBIR/STTR proposals for applicants.
