GUIRR Webinar - NSF's Convergence Accelerator
Disciplines: All
Tuesday, October 27th, 2020 12:00pm – 1:00pm CST
The National Science Foundation's (NSF) Convergence Accelerator is a new capability designed to transition basic research and discovery toward impactful solutions. The Convergence Accelerator's mission is to address national-scale societal challenges through use-inspired convergence research. Using a convergence approach, the Accelerator integrates multidisciplinary partnerships between academic, industry, non-profit, government, and other sectors, and applies innovation processes such as human-centered design thinking; team science; early-stage prototyping; and use-inspired research to ensure the solutions address issues of significant national impact. The Accelerator’s research topics are currently aligned to three NSF's Big Ideas: Harnessing the Data Revolution, Future of Work at the Human-Technology Frontier, Quantum Leap, however, the ideation for future topics are underway. Please join GUIRR and the Convergence Accelerator’s Program Directors Pradeep Fulay and Lara Campbell for a discussion about the Convergence Accelerator model and the current research areas in progress.
