Pre-Tenure Faculty Workshops

We are pleased to announce a new workshop series for Pre-Tenure Faculty.
The Pre-Tenure Workshops are designed to meet the needs of Tenure-Track faculty prior to receiving tenure. If interested, other faculty are welcome to attend. All sessions will be held 12:30-1:30 and participants must register through Qualtrics, Please see the Center for Faculty Development and Innovation Website for sign-up. Participants will receive a Zoom link 24-48 hours in advance of the session.
Friday, October 9th – Library Services Overview - Shelley McDavid, Lovejoy Library
Participants will be able to identify Library resources to use in instruction and research to include: Ethical use of references in research, inter-library loans, how to request course reserves and embedding student library use in your syllabi.
Friday, November 13th - SIUE Research Protocols and Compliance: Instruction review Board/Institutional Animal Care and Use Processes - Linda Skelton and Taylor Morthland - Compliance
Participants will learn about the institutional processes and procedures in the use of animal and humans in research, and SIUE's electronic compliance management system - Kuali Protocol
Friday, January 29th - Student Mentoring for Success! - Laura Pawlow - Professor of Psychology
Participants will discuss how to mentor undergraduate students in research creative activities and challenges and reward of student mentoring
Friday, March 12th - Research Challenges for the New or Developing Researcher - Josh Wooten/Peer Research Consultants
Participants will brainstorm/discuss potential challenges related to various research scenarios, problem solve a variety of challenges related to research and evaluate the effectiveness of solutions and strategies presented through case studies.
