Students are changing. Classrooms are changing. It’s often a challenge to know good practice from gimmicks. But sharing best practices with others can help.
Join us for an end-of-semester discussion of Cathy Davidson and Christina Katopodis’s The New College Classroom (Harvard, 2022) to discuss ways to aid student learning with simple strategies that can be incorporated into any classroom.
- Cathy N. Davidson has published more than twenty books, including The New Education and Now You See It. She is Senior Advisor to the Chancellor on Transformation at the Graduate Center, City University of New York. She served on the National Council on the Humanities, delivered a keynote address at the Nobel Prize Forum on the Future of Education, and writes regularly for the Washington Post and Chronicle of Higher Education.
- Christina Katopodis is Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Transformative Learning in the Humanities initiative at the City University of New York and has authored or coauthored over a dozen articles on innovative pedagogy, environmental studies, and early American literature. She has received the Dewey Digital Teaching Award and the Diana Colbert Innovative Teaching Prize.
This discussion will be limited to ten participants, who will agree to discuss the book on November 30th from 12:30-2:30 in the Center for Faculty Development and Innovation. Coffee and snacks will be provided!
