Posted March 31, 2026
On March 27th, 2026, four SIUE representatives made their way north to the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign for the annual conference of the National Organization for Business and Engineering. Pictured below from left to right, Cole McGrath, majoring in mechanical engineering, Wyatt Herscher, majoring in marketing, Madalynn Edwards, majoring in industrial engineering, and IE faculty Matt Martell all made the trip. The conference consisted of several different workshops and guest speakers, as well as a tour of the U of I campus, followed by a social night alongside the U of I's victory in the NCAA tournament.
Students learned about human centered design, building a career spanning business and engineering, and the fundamentals of being an effective trader. They also collaborated with leaders from other NOBE chapters, sharing ideas on how to build consistent attendance, provide value to their members, and become effective leaders. It was an exciting event to have so close to home!
