The American Concrete Institute (ACI) Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Composites Student Competition was held on 27 October at the Fall ACI Concrete Convention and Exposition in Cincinnati, Ohio. Ten SIUE Construction Management students participated in the Associated Schools of Construction Great Lakes Region 3 annual student competition and conference 17-20 October 2018 in Downer’s Grove, Illinois. Competition categories include Commercial, Design/Build, Heavy Civil, Pre-construction, Project Solutions, Electrical, and Concrete Solutions. Missouri ACI Chapter Annual Cube Competition

The Missouri ACI chapter conducted their annual concrete cube competition in October 2018. Six teams from four different schools competed (University of Missouri Kansas City, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, University of Missouri Columbia and Missouri Science and Technology). The award uses a points system based on participation in concrete related activities and programs to reward academic institutions. Universities that have earned 12 or more points are recognized as Excellent and those with six to eleven points achieve Outstanding status.

ACI Illinois Chapter hosted the Fiber Reinforced Concrete Bowling Ball at their certification training center in Elmhurst, IL on February 9, 2019.
