Position Title
Clinical Assistant Professor, Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Practice
Job Description/Responsibilities
The School of Pharmacy at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville invites applicants for a 12-month, clinical-teaching track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will establish a high-level clinical practice with a partnering health care institution to support the experiential education program. The person in this position will provide vision and guidance within the area of Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Practice, mentor students and preceptors, provide instruction in the professional degree program, and participate in the experiential education of pharmacy students (APPEs), pharmacy residents, and medical residents. Faculty members in the School of Pharmacy will be expected to engage in scholarly activities as well as service to promote the profession and the mission of the school within the department, college, university, and community. The successful candidate must support and promote values that encourage inclusion, equity, and diversity within their teaching, scholarship, and service-related activities. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs and goals of the School of Pharmacy and university.
The SIUE School of Pharmacy offers a professional program leading to the doctor of pharmacy (PharmD) degree, a concurrent PharmD/MBA program, a concurrent PharmD/MS Healthcare Informatics program, and a master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences. Minimum Qualifications
Applicants for this position must possess the Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D.) from an accredited U.S. school/college of pharmacy. The individual must also have an active pharmacy license in the State of Illinois or be eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois. Applicants must have completed at least one year of residency training (two years of residency preferred), or have equivalent experience. Training and/or experience in the area of ambulatory care, primary care, or family medicine is preferred.
