The National Corn-to-Ethanol Research Center at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is seeking applications for Assistant Ethanol Plant Scientific Analysts. These positions are temporary and will last until the assigned projects and/or client trials are completed. Traditional benefits are not offered. Job Description/Responsibilities
Assist in research and clients services; assist in fermentation client trials and assist in quality control for analytical laboratory services. This position will be responsible for performing analytical assays and tests associated with grant-funded or contractual projects; will assist in specific chemical tests on various substances and record such data in preparation of scientific reports and will follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) of sample collections, storage and archiving; will work closely with private sector clients to maintain specified research protocols within an environment of strict business confidentiality.
Minimum Qualifications
1. A. Bachelor’s degree in life science or loosely related field
OR
B. Associates in Applied Science (AAS) AND a minimum of two (2) years of industrial
and/or commercial lab experience
OR
C. Four (4) years of industrial/commercial lab experience or analytical chemistry
lab experience
Salary
$16.80 per hour
