Job Description/Responsibilities
The Postdoctoral Fellow(s) will assist the National Corn-to-Ethanol Research Center (NCERC) research team in furthering the development of the research program at NCERC. This will encompass all aspects of contractual and grant-funded research at the NCERC, as well as the development of new projects and proposals, based on external funding opportunities.

The responsibilities of the Postdoctoral Fellow(s) include: designing and carrying out experimental protocols, data interpretation and reporting, troubleshooting scientific instruments, writing research reports, writing articles for peer reviewed publications as well as presenting the research results at a professional conference.  The Postdoctoral Fellow(s) will assist the Director of Research at NCERC in writing proposals for the grant application and engaging in any other research activities to acquire funding for the Center.  Additionally, the Postdoctoral Fellow(s) will participate in client-funded contractual projects when needed.  Further duties may be assigned in support of the department’s mission and goals. 

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in science or engineering.  Ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications 
-Demonstrated interest in biofuels, biochemicals or bioproducts research
-Strong writing and communication skills
-Demonstrated interest in experimental design and bench-top analytical techniques
-Attention to detail

Terms of Appointment
Full-time, 12-month term beginning July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018 with possibility of renewal.

$40,810 per year
