Job Description/Responsibilities
The Assistant Professors of Speech-Language Pathology are full-time, tenure track positions in the School of Education, Health and Human Behavior. The successful candidates will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise clinical practicums, advise and mentor students, develop and maintain an active research agenda, and participate in university and professional service activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Required qualifications include (a) a Ph.D. in speech-language pathology or a related field; (b) the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology; and (c) eligibility for Illinois state licensure. ABD candidates will be considered, but the doctoral degree is required by the start of the contract.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidate who show evidence of (a) teaching skills, (b) clinical skills, and (c) scholarly activity. Preferred areas of specialization/interest include child speech and language, AAC, multicultural issues, dysphagia, and/or aural rehabilitation. Other specialties may be considered.
Terms of Appointment
Continuing tenure-track position for nine months. Teaching assignments may include evening courses. Summer assignments may be available, depending upon availability of funds and enrollment. Beginning date of appointment is August 15, 2018.
