Job Description/Responsibilities
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville invites applications for an instructor position in Computer Management and Information Systems (CMIS) beginning in August 2023 (subject to budgetary approval). We have an open position at the instructor rank and are seeking candidates with a range of academic and industry experience. The successful candidate will teach traditional in-person classes with the potential to teach hybrid and online classes. The successful candidate will teach primarily undergraduate classes with the potential to teach graduate classes depending on experience and qualifications.
Minimum Qualifications
An earned Master’s degree (MS or MBA) from an AACSB-accredited university in MIS or closely related field is required. The candidate must have five or more years of full-time IT work experience. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate classes in and possess knowledge of Basic Programming Logic and introductory Python, Intermediate to Advanced Excel, Systems Analysis and Design, and introductory skills in Data Analytics (i.e., basic SQL, Data Visualization, Statistical Correlations in Excel). Faculty development must be completed to maintain AACSB qualifications. Preference may be given to candidates who possess IT management experience, project management experience, programming language expertise, and/or prior teaching experience.
Terms of Appointment
Term academic year appointment beginning Fall 2023 through Spring 2024 with the possibility of renewal.
