About Dr. Murphy
Jason Murphy earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Neuropsychology from Saint Louis University in 2013. He is an alumnus of SIUE’s Clinical Adult Psychology graduate program. He also earned an M.S. in Computer Management Information Systems from SIUE. Before joining SIUE as a faculty member, he completed a year-long clinical internship with the APA-accredited St. Louis Psychology Internship Consortium, gaining psychotherapy and assessment experience with inpatient, outpatient, and forensic populations. Subsequently, he completed a post-doctoral clinical and teaching fellowship at the University of Missouri – St. Louis.
Dr. Murphy's research interests include telepsychology and the intersection of technology and psychology. He is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Illinois and Missouri, and his therapeutic orientation is integrative, drawing from cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and positive psychology schools. He has extensive assessment experience with inpatient, outpatient, medical, forensic, and business/consulting populations. For more than a decade, he has leveraged his expertise in psychological assessment to provide organizational consulting services to clients ranging from local small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. He is the current Director Technology for the National Human Resources Association, after previously serving as Director Community Engagement and Secretary.
