As a staff counselor, Samantha’s main role in the department is to provide therapeutic services for clients on an individual and group basis. Her therapeutic approach is primarily person-centered, with the incorporation of CBT and mindfulness-based skills based on the clients needs. She aims to meet each client “where they are”, and to treat each client with a trauma-informed and multicultural aware mindset.
Samantha has worked with a wide range of clients experiencing depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns. She has previous experience working with clients enrolled in an intensive outpatient program for anxiety and panic related disorders through St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute (SLBMI). Additionally, she has experience working with both victims and perpetrators of sexual and domestic violence.
