Madison County Employment and Training Department, in partnership with St. Clair County Intergovernmental Grants Department and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville are seeking motivated dislocated workers interested in pursuing a career in the fields of Laboratory Technician, Food Science Technician, and Chemical Technician.
These fast-growing careers involve utilizing general laboratory practices and techniques, operating analytical instruments and equipment to support laboratory or production operations. Laboratory, Food Science and Chemical Technicians commonly work in industries such as petrochemical refining, pet foods, food and beverage, biofuels, and more. Starting wages begin at $15/hour or more, with opportunities for advancement both within individual companies and across industries. Many positions carry full-time benefits, including health insurance and retirement.
