Photo Opportunities
SIUE is situated on 2,660 beautiful acres, giving ample opportunities for commencement photos on campus. We have highlighted a few of the most popular spots on campus with links to our interactive map. We hope you will take advantage of capturing photo in your regalia to remember your time at SIUE. "e" sculpture
A 2019 installation, the "e" sculpture has quickly become a popular location for students, alumni and visiting guests to take photos on campus. The sculpture is located at the end of the Hairpin, between Rendelman Hall and Builders of University Plaza.
Cougar Statue
The Cougar Statue is one of the most iconic photo spots on campus. Situated in the middle of campus, you can spot the Cougar Statue on a walk through the Stratton Quadrangle.
SIUE Entrance Signs
At each entrance to campus there are large Southern Illinois Universary Edwardsville signs welcoming everyone to campus. Not only do they serve as a warm welcome to campus, they also rank as some of the most popular locations for photo on campus.
The Gardens at SIUE
The Gardens at SIUE gives many photo op locations. The trails provide a paved loop to experience the beautiful nature found in the Gardens, including the Turtle Pond Bridge.
The First Community Arena at the Vadalabene Center
Not only is the First Community Arena at the Vadalabene Center the location of commencement, it also lends itself to a photo opportunity outside the east entrance. SIUE letters are mounted to the building creating a fixed structure for individual and group photos.
The Student Fitness Center
The Student Fitness Center will be host to two temporary commencement photo locations during commencement weekend. These options will only be available the weekend of commencement.
Large SIUE letters will be installed on the hill between the RecPlex and the Student Fitness Center.
Commencement specific backdrops will be placed on the intermural basketball courts next to the Student Activity Center.
