Career Development Center – Students
Career Development Center

“As a Career Counselor, I support students in identifying factors that influence their career development such as interests, abilities, and values.  I collaboratively work with students in finding a major, exploring career options, and post-graduation plans.  I review resumes, guide students in job search strategies, social media, and facilitate interview preparation.  I connect students with incredible opportunities that the CDC provides such as mentors, co-ops, internships, job listings, and career fairs.”

Eileen attended SIUE for her undergraduate degree in Sociology of Employment Relations and earned her Master’s degree in Counseling at Lindenwood University.

Favorite part about her job:  “I absolutely love what I do but what I love most is witnessing the development of the student.  I love to see students come back to me with their successes or bumps in their journey because it is then that I feel like at one point, I was resourceful to them.”

What do you like to do outside of the office?   “I love trying new restaurants, being with friends and family, traveling, running and sending packages!”

Hobbies: Long distance running, family, bulletin boards, cooking and trying new recipes

Favorite Movie: Good Will Hunting

If you could travel anywhere, I would go to Banff in Alberta, Canada and be in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany at Christmas!  I love to travel, but have many places still on my list to see!

Why did you choose your career path in career services: “My background is in both Recruiting and Academic Advising; working as a Career Counselor has been a perfect blend of my experience and passions.”
