Budget Systems & Training
The University Budget Office staff are available to offer both group and individual training on any of these systems or processes. To schedule a session, please email budgetoffice@siue.edu.
Budget Entry System
(e.g., G.O. Budget and Non-State budget submissions) - This online portal is designed for submitting annual budgets for both state (72xxxx) and non-state (73xxxx, 74xxxx, 75xxxx, and 77xxxx) accounts. The University Budget Office will send an email containing the link to the system, along with instructions to guide you through the process of preparing and submitting your budgets. Salary expenses will be pre-populated from the Position Control Worksheets that are submitted by each area for each budget purpose and will be locked for users to ensure accuracy.
Budget Entry SystemBudget Transfer System (Currently In Development)
This new online system is designed to replace the existing Budget Allocation Adjustment form for non-salary budget transfers and RTU form for salary budget transfers for the G.O. Budget accounts. Rather than filling out the previous PDF forms, budget transfer details are now entered directly into the online form, which will be automatically routed for the necessary approvals. This system enhances efficiency through automation, reduces duplicative data entry, and minimizes the risk of errors.
Budget Transfer SystemPosition Control
During the budget cycle, units will receive OneDrive links to their respective position control worksheets, which will be pre-populated with salary expenses from the previous year for each individual. Units are responsible for updating the salary expenses for the upcoming budget year. Once budgets are submitted, the original position control worksheets will be locked and used to track any lapsed salary dollars throughout the fiscal year. The University Budget Office will unlock the worksheets, allowing units to make updates as needed during the fiscal year. Salary expense forecasts will be based on the data in these worksheets, making it essential that they are kept current.
