Research Interests
Dr. Smart’s primary research focus is on structural epistemic rationality—what it “makes sense” for one to believe (or not) given one’s epistemic perspective. He also has interests in metaphilosophy (particularly appeals to intuitions), philosophy of science, philosophy of language, and philosophy of religion.
