Quantitative Reasoning 101

The Department offers several sections of QR 101 each semester, including some online sections. We will sometimes offer sections in the Freshman Seminar format, which can help students meet their general education requirements more efficiently.

Quantitative Reasoning proficiency exam

The Department has developed a proficiency exam for QR 101; if you pass the proficiency exam you get pass/fail credit (at no cost!) for QR 101.  We strongly encourage all students to take the practice proficiency exam!  This practice exam is similar in format and content to the actual proficiency exam.  If you score well on the practice exam, you should consider taking the actual proficiency exam.   If you think you could score better with a little preparation, look at our resources to help you prepare for the proficiency exam.   The exam can be taken only once and is available through Testing Services. We have more information about the exam, including sample questions and resources to help prepare for the proficiency exam.
