Research Interests: Traumatic injuries (TIs) are a leading cause of death and can lead to a myriad of negative consequences to overall health. One of the most understudied consequences is the impact to reproduction, particularly female reproductive health deficits. Deficits include ovulation defects, irregular menstruation, and increased rates of miscarriages. Using Drosophila melanogaster, we aim to investigate the genetic, hormonal, and immune mechanisms underlying trauma-induced reproductive dysfunction.
