Steve Jankowski '74, Director of Alumni Affairs
Steve Jankowski, whose career in radio, television, marketing, public relations, advertising and teaching has spanned three decades, graduated from SIUE in 1974 with a bachelor of science in Mass Communications. In his role, he is responsible for the development and oversight of an alumni relations and communications strategy to build and strengthen the University's relationship with its more than 90,000 graduates. Jankowski also works with the SIUE Alumni Association Board in planning activities involving SIUE alumni, including support for enrollment efforts, scholarship development, and mentoring programs. Steve is a frequent speaker and emcee at local events for a variety of organizations, ranging from the Illinois Congressional Delegation prayer breakfast to the American Heart Association. In his spare time, Steve enjoys photography, carpentry, writing, drawing and public speaking. He also fancies himself a good story-teller and after 35 years in radio and TV, he has a few stories to tell. He and his wife Elizabeth, also an SIUE alumna, now enjoy sharing stories with their grandson.
