Quality Checkup

SIUE was an early entrant into the Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP), which is intended to “infuse the principles and benefits of continuous improvement into the culture of colleges and universities.” As part of the process, SIUE has worked to enhance our continuous improvement structures and develop a culture that supports evidence-informed transformation. We have embedded processes that encourage units to select goals for continuing improvement and develop annual plans that align with those goals in order to improve performance in the designated areas. As part of our institution-wide quality improvement program, we developed the University Quality Council (UQC) in 2007. The UQC was formed to assist in guiding the University’s AQIP efforts. The UQC routinely reviews institutional data and identifies opportunities for intervention and coordinates our AQIP Action Projects.

As we continually strive to evolve and mature in our efforts, we are embarking on a new project to develop a more integrative quality improvement planning process. You can learn more about this process in our AQIP Action Project Directory.
