Early Entry MS in Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering offers undergraduate students the opportunity to begin coursework towards the Master of Science during the senior year of their Bachelor of Science program. Students with senior-level status in civil engineering (at least 90 semester hours) and an overall GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale in engineering, mathematics, and physical science courses may be admitted to the MS program, allowing them to earn 30 hours of graduate-level credit (400- and 500-level) during their combined fourth and fifth years.

How to Apply

1. Consult with your academic advisor and/or the Graduate Program Director of your program of interest to discuss which graduate-level courses are appropriate for you to enroll in if you are accepted to the program. 
2. Submit a graduate admission application to the program following the student instructions. 
   1. Select the "SIUE Undergraduate to Graduate Student" option from the student type list within the application.
   2. Complete the Plan of Study information detailing which graduate courses you plan to take and the semesters you plan to take them.
   3. Enter your undergraduate academic advisor's name and email address within the recommendation requirement so they can review your Plan of Study.
