The post-baccalaureate certificate in Integrative Studies with a focus in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Social Justice is a 12-credit hour program to equip students to become diversity and social justice facilitators, trainers, activists, and agents of social change. The program aims to familiarize students with the complexities of diversity, the management of diversity and inclusion in work settings, the enhancement of cultural competencies, and the skills necessary for effective social changes.
This certificate will complement students’ learning and academic profile in a variety of liberal arts and professional degrees, from sociology to business administration and political science to nursing. The certificate will allow students who choose to continue with a graduate degree in sociology and allied fields.
The courses included in the certificate will be a combination of face-to-face, online and hybrid. Qualifying electives currently exist in various modalities across departments for this interdisciplinary program. The practicum course will be exclusively face-to-face and offered at least once a year.
