Governor J.B. Pritzker’s “Stay-At-Home" Order goes into effect at 5 p.m. today and continues through April 7. The executive order indicates that universities are considered “essential businesses” for the purposes of facilitating distance learning, performing critical research or performing essential functions. Current information including campus announcements, FAQs, and campus operations are available on the SIUE Coronavirus website.
Please find several important updates for the campus community:
- Buidling Access For Critical Support: During this time, building access will be restricted. On-ground employees performing a critical function who need access to a building should reach out to SIUE Police at (618) 650-3324.
- Health Service: Health Service will remain open to see patients already holding appointments through Monday, March 23. After that date, Health Service will utilize a remote triage strategy to serve students. Please contact them at cougarcare@siue.edu.
- Counseling Services: Counseling Services continues to be available remotely to students.
- Housing: University Housing’s move-out process will end on Saturday, March 21 at 5 p.m. All current residents are expected to check out of their housing assignment. Any student unable to make it back to campus by that date will have their belongings held on campus.
- Campus Operations: The Morris University Center, including Union Station, and the Student Success Center will be closed for in-person visits.
- The Student Success Center will close Monday at 5 p.m.
- More information about internet access for students, faculty and staff will be forthcoming.
Each day, our campus community is presented with new obstacles. We will continue to take it day-by-day, together. We cannot thank each of you enough for all you are doing to help support each other during this difficult time. Today, we would like to especially thank members of our campus community who continue to work on-ground to support students with access to their essential needs.
