SET/Suspension of Tenure Clock

Dear Colleagues, Please find attached guidance regarding opportunities for faculty to suspend the tenure clock for reasons related to the COVID-19 outbreak. To be clear, this option is meant to support faculty. Faculty members may choose to go up on time. This message also provides a framework for approaching student evaluations of teaching for Spring 2020. As mentioned at Academic Affairs Council, we may have some faculty members who wish to work on developing some alternative questions that faculty members might ask to gain feedback and help the University learn from these transitions. Finally, we have reiterated the temporary changes to our sabbatical policy.
Please distribute to the department chairs and faculty in your School/College. We will also distribute the final copy to Faculty Senate, Graduate Council, and the Faculty Association. I am grateful for your input and thoughtful feedback as we worked on this document.
