Hello Socially Distant Friends and Colleagues – I hope this message finds you well. While I continue to meet with SIUE's COVID-19 Core Planning team nearly every weekday morning, I wanted to give you an update on the Phase 3 Return to Work Guidelines.
First: We’re going to take the next two weeks to plan how offices will safely open by June 15th. These transition two weeks will allow individual staff members and departments to work out their specific plans. We are encouraging employees who can work remotely to do so during Phase 3.
Next, since many offices won’t be ready to operationalize this week, the Edwardsville campus buildings will remain closed through June 7th although many offices will be open as some employees return to work on the Phase 3 plan. Please continue to use your swipe card or call University Police at ext 3324 for access. The SDM campus has its own opening schedule and that schedule has been communicated to the Alton campus employees. The East St. Louis campus buildings will open on June 1 in order to allow the outside tenants to open their offices even though many SIUE employees will continue to work from home.
The goal is that by June 15th, employees should
- have already returned to campus to work,
- be working from home,
- remain “on-call” at home if there is no work for them to do.
Although some employees will have alternative work arrangements, many offices may end up operating with minimum staffing while others may activate new flexible working arrangements.
This week, parking flexibility on campus remains the same as it has since mid-March. Regular parking rules will go back into effect on June 8.
Finally, we have sanitizing wipes and disinfectant for offices while the supply lasts. We also have bulk hand sanitizer to refill any size sanitizer container.
- On the Alton campus, contact the Dean’s office for the supplies.
- On the Edwardsville campus, a supply and refill station will be set up in the 1200 wing of Peck Hall on Tuesday and Thursday, June 2 & 4 from 10:30 – 12:30.
- On the ESL campus, contact Agustin Bramwell or the ESL Director of Grants office for supplies.
If you have a question, please send them to me by email or ext 2536 or call HR at ext 2190 and I’ll answer them in a future email update.
Thank you for all you do. Please stay well.
