Friends and Colleagues – In today’s update, I want to focus on how we collectively support and communicate expectations for the health of everyone in our community.
Communication Resources: A critical element of successfully returning to work is a collective commitment to adhere to the latest guidelines provided by CDC, the IDPH, and the Restore Illinois plan. To that end, here is a LINK to some communication tools that can be printed at the department level and posted in offices to affirm to faculty, staff, and visitors how best to help keep everyone healthier and safer.
Health: Just a friendly reassurance to employees that you have full access to your health benefits, so if you are sick, please stay home. Your health is too important to risk leaving your home when you are sick. Remember that in addition to the CMS health benefits already in place, you may also be eligible for leave and sick pay for qualifying reasons under the Federal Families First Coronavirus Response Act. Here’s a link to those additional leave provisions: Department of Labor Notice.
For updates to this Operations Safety Plan or to learn more about what SIUE is doing during the pandemic, visit www.siue.edu/coronavirus. Updates to this Plan may change as the Restore Illinois plan phases change for our region and as CDC guidelines are revised. Questions related to returning to work should be directed to supervisors first and if necessary, to Human Resources at ext. 2190 for follow up.
Thank you for all you do. Keep supporting one another and stay well.

Vice Chancellor for Administration
