Return to Work Update

Friends and Colleagues – In today’s update, let me clarify and answer a few topics related to returning to work.
Stay-at-Home vs Phase 3 Cleaning?: Cleaning on all three campuses has been an ongoing effort since mid-march since many employees have remained on ground working. However, the Building Service Workers (BSW) worked with reduced staffing since most employees were not on campus, thus they could focus their efforts on the occupied spaces and many of them, too, could then Stay at Home. Last week, the BSWs started coming in full force to prepare for staff returning this week as part of Phase 3. But it’s an ongoing process and they can’t do the regular cleaning once people return AND the extra cleaning, thus we are hiring extra help. Meanwhile, all offices have available to them the sanitizing wipes and spray disinfectant for their offices to use during Phase 3 and Phase 4 if needed. We also have bulk hand sanitizer to refill any size sanitizer container. And of course, masks. If any office didn’t pick up their supplies this week, there is one more chance today on the Edwardsville campus in the 1200 wing of Peck Hall from 10:30 – 12:30. We will have more distribution days next week announced soon.
Physical Office Setups: Where possible, offices should be reconfigured such that no one is facing another employee without a partition between them. Employees should avoid using other employees’ phones, desk equipment or sharing items that are not easily cleaned, sanitized, or disinfected and should remove or sanitize high-touch items such as magazines, common pens, touch screens, white-board markers, remote controls, etc.
Parking?: Beginning Monday, June 8, Parking Service Agents return to their regular duties and all parking regulations will be reestablished. Be sure to park in the lot that corresponds with your purchased hang tag.
