SIUE Students,
We are looking forward to welcoming you back to campus very soon. As you prepare to Return to SIUE to learn on-ground, live on-campus or access student services, it is imperative that you take the following steps to take care of yourself, take care of others and take care of your community. More than ever, we want our community to thrive, our institution to remain open, and our faculty, staff, and students to remain healthy.
In order to have a successful Fall Semester, we need your help. For the 14 days before you come to campus and throughout the semester, students should follow the guidance below.
Take Care of Yourself
- Limit exposure to others. Stay home.
- Wash your hands and practice good hygiene. Carry and use personal hand sanitizer regularly.
- Practice social distancing.
- Wipe down surfaces with cleaning and disinfecting products or other household cleaners.
- Utilize disposable utensils and plates when possible.
- Stay home if you are not feeling well.
- Wear face coverings properly, covering your mouth and nose. Make certain they are cleaned regularly.
- Follow instructions from SIUE about COVID-19 guidelines, quarantine, and isolation.
Take Care of your Community
- Help keep areas clean before and after use.
- Follow instructional signage.
- Follow the instructions related to illness and exposure if you are experiencing COVID-19 related symptoms, but have not yet tested positive; have close contact exposure; or have been diagnosed as presumptive or confirmed positive.
For those traveling to campus this fall from international locations, the Centers for Disease Control does recommend staying home for 14 days upon arrival. In advance of their arrival, students arriving for the semester from an international location should contact SIUE Health Service at cougarcare@siue.edu. Those living in on-campus housing should also coordinate with University Housing at housing@siue.edu.
SIUE Health Service is available to assist you with any health-related questions you may have before arriving to campus and is here to serve you as you transition to SIUE. Do not hesitate to reach out to us at cougarcare@siue.edu.
