Dear SIUE Community,
Library & Information Services (LIS) is dedicated to providing access to our resources while promoting the health and well-being of the entire SIUE community. Most library services will continue to be available virtually throughout this time.
Building Closures
In response to COVID-19, the Lovejoy Library building (Edwardsville Campus) and Biomedical Library (Alton Campus) will both close at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 20, and remain closed until further notice. For the most update information about materials and services, please visit siue.edu/lovejoy-library.

The LibGuide, “Continuity of Library Services” is linked on the library's homepage to provide information about library services in response to COVID-19. It will be updated frequently, so please check to stay informed and share it as needed.
Library Materials
Physical Materials
During this closure, physical library materials – including books, DVDs and equipment – will not be publicly accessible and any items currently checked out will not be considered overdue. If you would like to request physical materials in the Lovejoy Library stacks only, please use our Live Chat to make arrangements for curbside pickup or we will mail to remote patrons.
Additionally, until further notice, in response to COVID-19, I-Share requesting and Statewide Library Delivery are temporarily suspended, and I-Share library materials will not be considered overdue.
Electronic Materials
Interlibrary Loan staff will continue to process requests for electronic/digital items such as articles, book chapters, papers, etc. These requests will be processed within 48 hours. If you have questions, please Ask a Librarian via our Live Chat.
Live Chat Research Help
During the building closure, librarians and reference staff will be available the following days and times for immediate assistance via our Live Chat:
Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-1 a.m.
Friday, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Saturday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
Sunday, 10 a.m.-1 a.m.

We are here for you! SIUE faculty may request a librarian to contact them for assistance in moving their spring 2020 courses online. Questions about library instruction? Reserves? Using eBooks and need to upgrade the number of simultaneous users? Integrating library tutorials into BlackBoard? Not sure what you need, but want help? We’ve got you covered. Library Instruction
We can provide library instruction virtually. To make a request, please visit our online guide and complete the form.
eBooks
Using an eBook in your course? If you'd like the library to purchase a new eBook or upgrade an eBook in the library’s collection to unlimited simultaneous users, complete this form and a librarian will contact you.
e-Reserve Materials
If you need items placed on reserve, please utilize our online form. Staff will process the request or contact you within 24 hours.
