Fall 2020 Grading Modifications
Posted December 18, 2020
December 18, 2020
Dear Students,
On Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, the University made temporary modifications to its grading procedures. The modification applies to eligible undergraduate and graduate courses, regardless of course length, for the fall 2020 semester. These temporary changes to our grading practices reflect the extraordinarily challenging circumstances that students experienced during this semester, given the COVID-19 pandemic. The change was made in consultation with Student Government, Faculty Senate, Graduate Council, deans, and others. While the change is not as expansive as the adjustment for Spring 2020, this modification offers a mechanism for reducing the most harmful effects for students.
The attached document shares a synopsis of this plan, details important timelines, answers anticipated questions, and offers specific information related to financial aid, student-athletes and veterans. Please note appropriate contact information in the attached should you have additional questions.
Thank you for your dedication to learning during these challenging times, and for the grace you’ve shown as we’ve worked together to overcome and persevere.
