COVID Vaccine Clinic On Campus

Dear Campus Community,
Madison County Health Department will be hosting a COVID vaccine clinic on campus for all SIUE faculty, staff, and students ages 16 and older. The vaccine clinic will provide appointments for the Pfizer vaccine. Pfizer is an mRNA vaccine and is considered 80% effective after the first dose. However, the completed series offers more than 90% effectiveness for prevention of infection.
Important Information:
- First dose appointments for the Pfizer vaccine will be available April 21, 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.
- Second dose appointments for the Pfizer vaccine will be available May 12, 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. Appointments will open at a later date.
- A photo ID with a birthdate is required for everyone, regardless of age.
- If you are not an Illinois resident, proof of Illinois employment OR your SIUE Cougar Card is required.
- Masks are required.
- Individuals participating in the vaccine clinic will be permitted to park in Lot F.

- The vaccination clinic will be held at the SIUE Student Fitness Center.
Please Note:
- If you have ever had a severe allergic reaction (e.g. anaphylaxis) to ANY injectable medication or vaccine you are not eligible to register for these clinics. Please contact COVIDVax@co.madison.il.us for further instructions.
- You cannot receive the COVID-19 vaccine within 14 days of any other vaccines.
- If you are sick or are COVID-19 positive, please contact our department to reschedule your appointment.
- Students traveling out of the area at the end of the semester who are unable to attend the 2nd dose clinic should be able to schedule their second dose in their home area.
- Students unable to schedule their second dose at the SIUE clinic and needing assistance in scheduling a 2nd dose in their home area may connect with SIUE Health Service for further direction and assistance at CougarCare@siue.edu
- IDPH encourages people to register with V-safe After Vaccination Health Checker, a smartphone-based tool that uses text messages and web surveys to provide personalized health check-ins after you receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
