With spring break around the corner, students, faculty, and staff may be planning or have already made travel arrangements for destinations far and wide.
All travelers should thoroughly research their destinations and consult with their Travel Clinic and medical or nursing providers on medical concerns. While SIUE Health Service is continuing to monitor the State Department, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and World Health Organization (WHO) travel advisories, you can also view their websites.
- State Department: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories.html/
- Centers for Disease Control: https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/notices
- World Health Organization: https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/travel-advice
SIUE continues to closely monitor the situation and stay in communication with other campus departments and officials, along with the CDC via the Illinois Department of Public Health(IDPH). At this time, the IDPH has provided information indicating that there are 102 persons under investigation for Coronavirus (those exhibiting symptoms and qualified for testing). Of those, there are 2 confirmed and 2 preliminary positive cases confirmed by the CDC.
Health Service is on high alert for Coronavirus and has protocols in place to treat students effectively and protect other students from illness.
Or you can contact Health Service at 618-650-2842.
