Thank you for your dedication and perseverance as we work together to ensure the health and well-being of our community and remain committed to our academic focus on learning and discovery.
Weekly Testing
Beginning Monday, Jan. 31, the University will no longer require ALL employees and students to test. The decision to require testing for all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, was implemented as a temporary added protective measure as we’ve reconvened on campus.
In alignment with the Governor’s Executive Order, the University is returning to a testing protocol that requires weekly testing for unvaccinated individuals. Fully vaccinated individuals are encouraged and welcomed to continue to utilize the on-campus SHIELD testing service.
- The Edwardsville campus testing location will return to the Student Success Center, Room 0200. For details on weekly testing and to schedule an appointment, click here.
- Individuals who are unable or unwilling to become fully vaccinated should plan accordingly to ensure compliance with this weekly testing requirement.
- Fully vaccinated individuals must submit proof of vaccination via the Testing Exemption Request form, and receive University verification, to be exempt from our weekly testing protocol. Find that form by clicking here.
- The decision may be made to modify this protocol and make necessary shifts to fit the ongoing health and safety needs of our campus community.
We continue to encourage all individuals to become vaccinated and receive a booster. Please utilize the many opportunities to obtain vaccination through community pharmacies and clinics. The coordination of future on-campus vaccination/booster opportunities is underway.
Other COVID Mitigation Updates
Beginning January 31:
- Office staffing patterns will return to Fall 2021 staffing models.
- Mask wearing guidelines will remain in place and should be worn properly, covering both the mouth and nose.
- Event capacity restrictions will remain in place for the time being. As conditions continue to improve, look for additional information.
Mask Distribution
The University procured large numbers of high-quality, level-3 surgical masks that are now available in instructional spaces, offices, and distribution points across campus, such as in the Morris University Center, Lovejoy Library, and Student Fitness Center. These masks are available for students, staff, and faculty, as needed. Individuals should acquire their own personal supply of protective masks for daily use.
