Technical Training

Goal Our goal is to provide computer-related training to staff to enable them to meet the demands of their positions. We hope this service will be helpful for new employees as well as experienced employees with new responsibilities.

Scheduling Windows Operating System courses, Introduction to Access 97 (Modules 1A & 1B), Excel 97, PowerPoint 97, and Word 97 are scheduled on a regular basis. See Scheduled Courses for dates, then fill out and return the Registration form.

Web Publishing A series for individuals who maintain University web pages on www.siue.edu. Planning and Content, Netscape Composer, Beginning HTML, Publishing your Pages, and Web Workshop are scheduled for this Spring. See Scheduled Courses for dates, then fill out and return the Registration form.

Additional courses are offered in Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Internet Related (look under Course Descriptions). These will be scheduled when registrations reach the minimum class size of 8 people. If you are interested in attending one of these courses fill out and return the Registration form. You will be notified when the class is scheduled.

Fees There is no charge for the courses offered but there will be a $15 fee for course materials for the following:

Beginning HTML
Create Pages using FrontPage (Beginning)
Access 97Introduction to Excel 97
Introduction to PowerPoint 97
Introduction to Word 97

The fee provides for a 100 page learning guide and a disk of practice files. The learning guide is used in both Module 1A and Module 1B or the Beginning and Intermediate sessions. See the Registration form for details.
