PROCEEDINGS
Proceedings of the first two Conferences on Function Spaces
at SIUE were published with Marcel Dekker in the Lecture Notes in Pure
and Applied Mathematics series (#136 & #172). However, the price
of the book ($165 for the second volume!) limited availability of the publication.
We plan to publish the Proceedings of the Third Conference
in the American Mathematical Society CONTEMPORARY MATHEMATICS series.
AMS already granted a provisional approval for the project.
According to the policy of CONM the final approval can be granted after
receipt and review of all referee reports for papers to appear.
UPDATE:
Proceedings of the
Third Conference has been published by the American Mathematical Society in the
CONTEMPORARY MATHEMATICS series (#232
- $49 for AMS members).
MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION REQUIREMENTS
-
The papers submitted for publication must be original, not
previously published or intended for publication elsewhere. Preliminary
papers (to be published elsewhere in final form) or summaries of
results previously published or soon to appear, are not acceptable.
-
Both survey articles and research papers containing new results
are welcome
-
expository articles that provide an overview of new developments
are especially encouraged,
-
the research papers should be addressed to broad audience
and provide an extensive introduction,
-
papers containing technical results, interesting for few
experts only, are not acceptable.
-
CONM is an author-prepared series which means the AMS reproduces
directly from camera-ready copy prepared by the author.
-
Close attention should be paid to page dimensions and specifications.
The Society developed author packages for the series in both AMS-TeX and
AMS-LaTeX. The author packages are free of charge and can be obtained via
ftp from e-MATH.
From your Web browser, connect to http://www.ams.org/tex
to access "AMS TeX Resources"; "author packages" appears as a menu item.
You may also request a copy of the package on a floppy disc from the AMS
Publication Department or from the Editor. Authors may also use any other
software applications to format their manuscript as long as the style remains
consistent throughout and the required page dimension specifications are
met. If in doubt about the style requirements or in need of assistance
with preparing your manuscript please contact the Editor.
-
Authors are expected to carefully proofread material before
submission; author-prepared manuscripts are not proofread and authors will
not receive galleys prior to publication.
-
The final versions of the manuscripts should be received
by the Editor by September 1, 1998 (an earlier submission will be greatly
appreciated). Send the manuscript to:
Krzysztof Jarosz
Department of Mathematics & Statistics
Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville
Edwardsville, Illinois 62026-1653, USA
E-mail: kjarosz@siue.edu
-
All papers will be refereed.
-
AMS will provide to the authors a complimentary copy of the
book upon publication and 50 free offprints of each article (to be divided
among coauthors as necessary).
