Bio

Xin Wang (王鑫) is an associate professor of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Southern Illinois University , Edwardsville, IL. He is also the director of power and control group, where his group is focused on the design and analysis of electric machines and drives, power electronics, power systems and automatic control with applications to electric vehicles, smart grid, and robotics. He received his PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI, in May 2011, the Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Marquette University in August 2008, and the Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Taiyuan University of Technology, Taiyuan, China, in July 2006. Before joining SIUE, he held the assistant professor position at the Oregon Institute of Technology, and faculty researcher position at Oregon BEST and Oregon Renewable Energy Center. His research interests are in power systems, power electronics, automatic control, electrical machines and drives. He has authored or co-authored more than 60 archival journal and conference publications. He is a senior member of IEEE, ASME and AIAA.
