For the Twenty-Forth Annual SLAPT Physics Competition there were two tests this year.

 

The Mechanics test had 50 questions and 18 students took this test. The average score on the test was 35.5 and the high score was a 45. There were five honorable mention certificates (Isaac Newton Awards) given out for scores above 40. The individual winners were:

FIRST PRIZE - Brad Berhorst, Helias High School

SECOND PRIZE - Will LePage, Helias High School

SECOND PRIZE - Ryan Pestka, Helias High School

 

The school winners (based on top three scores per school) were:

FIRST PLACE - Helias High School

SECOND PLACE - Parkway South

THIRD PLACE - Carbondale Community High School

 

The Senior Physics test had 50 questions and 47 students took this test. The average score on the test was 23.1 and the high score was a 43. There were ten honorable mention certificates given out for scores above 30. The individual winners were:

FIRST PRIZE - Mack Su, Clayton High School

SECOND PRIZE - Paul Botros, Carbondale Community High School

THIRD PRIZE - Laura Maguire, Parkway South High School

 

The school winners (based on top three scores per school) were:

FIRST PLACE - Carbondale Community High School

SECOND PLACE - Clayton High School

THIRD PLACE - Parkway South High School

 

We had students from 8 different schools and one home-school group.
