The Harry Potter film series, inspired by J.K. Rowling's novels, released the first of eight films in 2001. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 is due in November 2010, and the series will conclude with Part 2 in July 2011. The Harry Potter film franchise is already the highest grossing film series to date, having made over $5.4 billion worldwide with the first six films.

The series is being produced by Warner Brothers, and it stars Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger). Directors have included Chris Columbus, Alfonso Cuarón, Mike Newell, and David Yates.
