H20 Excursions

There's no better refresher than submerging yourself into a body of water. On a nice summer day nothing can beat this! Then again, if you're ice fishing you might be seeking out colder weather instead. Some water activites to take part in include:

Fishing

Fishing is an outing that'll either relax you or force you to learn that patience is a virtue. There are many places to fish including ponds, lakes, streams, and even the ocean. Be mindful of what you are fishing for, as different fish require diffrent poles and bait. To find out more about the best fishing spots, visit takemefishing.org.

Kayaking

Kayaking is similiar to canoeing, but the chances of a person falling out are not nearly as great as in a canoe. In a kayak it's easy to float and let the river take you (opposed to worrying about flipping it every waking second).

Jet Skiing

Jet skis are much like the four-wheelers of the water. They enable you to make jumps, go full throttle, and make crazy twists and turns to throw your friends off! While they can be lots of fun, it's important to always wear a lifejacket when on any watercraft.

Scuba Diving

Scuba diving is an exhilarating adventure that takes you into the depths of the sea. You are able to see creatures up close that you most likely would not have seen in person otherwise. The dive is always a great time, but careful instruction ahead of time must be administered in order to have a safe, eventful trip.

White Water Rafting

Strap on your helmets and life jackets, you're up for bouncy ride! White water rafting takes you out of the calm pond life and into busy stream of crashing waves and fast flowing water. For these trips, try not to bring any valuables with you, as the chances of losing them on trip are great.

[Safety Tip!]

When it comes to water activites, make sure you are caught up on your swimming abilites. Even if you are not in the water, it is still important that you are able to swim in case you fall in, a boat capsizes, the ice breaks, etc.
