Graduate Students

Kayla Little: Kayla has been working on stable isotopes of bone from Native American middens in the Illinois River Valley.  Her goal is to test hypotheses about river ecology using this physical record of river history.  We are grateful to the Center for American Archaeology for allowing us to use their material

Tim Tripp:  Tim is studying lead (Pb) in the tissues of fish from Horseshoe and Cougar Lakes

Matt Wilson: Matt is studying lead (Pb) cycling in the biota of Horseshoe Lake. He is using ICP-MS to examine the concentrations of Pb in benthic invertebrates.

Undergraduate Students

Stephanie Matthew: Stephanie using Kayla’s samples to see if modern fish from the Illinois River have more          or less Pb in their bone than bone found in Native American middens
