School Funding

In today's class we talked about how some schools have great resources while other schools barely have enough to get by. I think that the solution to this problem would to take all the tax money used for schools across the country and put it in one big fund and divide the money according to the number of students a school has. Therefore for each student a school has it would receive x amount of money. This would make it where each child would be given the same amount of resources. I think that a child from a poor community deserves the same education as a child from a rich community. I think this goes along with Dewey when he says, "What the best and wisest parent wants for his own child, that must the community want for all its children." We as a society should want every child to have the same opportunity to learn, we should want the poor children to receive the same education that a rich child receives.
