At an institution like SIUE, teaching is the most important aspect of our mission, and it influences all our other activities. (My opinion)

Most of my class-specific content has been moved to Blackboard.  All students in the SIUE Department of Chemistry have access to my recorded lectures in Wimba, which are available through the CONT_DEPT_CHEM page.

I feel that research is an activity that strongly supports teaching… I say more about this on “The Shaw Group” page.

I will start a new direction in my teaching in the next year or so.  I will be taking over responsibility for the NMR graduate level class, a responsibility which will move me away from my previous freshman level classes… I am excited about the new challenge.  The schedule for the NMR instrument can be viewed here.

In this technique, current is measured just before each pulse, and again at the end of each pulse.  The difference in current is plotted vs. the pulse potential… usually the plot looks like an “S-shaped” curve.
