Editorial Comment (Vol. 1, 12.04)
To launch a maiden voyage is always a daunting task not only for the captain of the ship but also for the voyagers. We could say the same for our experience in the launching of this on-line journal which has taken more than two years in the making. The anxiety of delving into the less navigated territory of on-line journal publishing took a big toll on the psychic of the editorial group, especially the assistants who worked day and night to ensure that the first issue sees the light of the day. Thus, glorious reputation should be given to our very first editorial and graduate assistant, Lena Mathis. She worked very hard to put it all on a good start, contacting contributors and editors in all corners of the globe. Pereari Aboro, the current editorial/graduate assistant, has had to burn candles on both ends in order to ensure the publication of this issue. I really appreciate his efforts and I hope that with this first in the series, we are ready to move on and stride harder on more solid and smoother grounds. We appreciate the overwhelming number of manuscripts submitted; they were more than one hundred in all. Unfortunately, we only have space for a limited and highly selected few. We hope that as time goes on, we will be able to publish all 28 that were selected in the next few issues. Thanks to all!M. O. Afoláyan
