Costa Rica: Itinerary

Costa Rica:   May 9-18th

 

These plans will probably change.  But here is what we are shooting for.  The way things go in Costa Rica, it is best not to get too attached to a itinerary.  Honestly, don’t flip out if things change.

Travel Day, Buy supplies, Stop by Carara

Intro to Park, Tour of the park, Work in the Afternoon

Visit a school?

Canopy tour in the A.M. (Villa Lapas);

Work; Visit Tarcoles

 

Night Hike

Work in the morning; Punta Leona Beach in the P.M.

Mangrove Tour in the A.M., Work, Visit Orotina in the afternoon?

Gardens, Hike to Waterfall (students pay for this – so it’s optional)

Work in the morning;  Clean up camp. 

 

Leave at 2 for Capos.  Spend night in Capos

Spend day in Manual Antonio; Leave at 3, go watch Sunset; Eat at 7:30.  Pack.

Leave early, early for Poas; drop off stuff in San Jose.  Go to Volcano

Travel Day

 

1) To register: Sign up for Sociology 396 (readings) unless you are liberal studies.  Liberal studies students who want money should sign up for their senior project. 

 

2) For money, you must apply to Study Abroad office.  They will pay for about 250dollars of the trip.

 

3) We have 6-8 pre-meetings.

 

4) Once you apply, to hold a seat you should send a 100 dollar deposit to Laurie Wolff, Box 1102. Check made to SIUE.  You can call her at 2875 if you have a question about the money.
