2. All candidates for student teaching in foreign languages must prepare a 10-15 minute oral presentation in the language they will teach. In the presentation, candidates should talk about their background, their vocation to teach, ideas about teaching a foreign language, their career goals and be prepared to answer questions. See attached description of the topics to be included.
3. All candidates must come prepared
to discuss their progress in the courses in
which they are currently enrolled.
Candidates must successfully complete all
courses in their major and FL 486
"The Teaching and Learning of Foreign
Languages" (with a grade of C or
better) before they can student teach.
This discussion will include an
update on progress toward completing
the Senior Essay and the projected
date for completion.
REMINDER: Student are encouraged to contact Dr. K. Bueno as soon as possible, but the request for the interview and the dossier must be in Dr. K. Bueno's possession no later than Friday (5:00 p. m.) the first week of the semester in which you wish to be interviewed. Three copies of all dossiers and of all transcripts are required.
The interview for student teaching is a professional interview; dress accordingly.
Bring a personal copy of your portfolio with you for reference during the discussion.
