Dr. Jianwei Huang, P.E., Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE), received his Ph.D. degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from Syracuse University. Professor Huang was a senior structural engineer in a Florida consulting firm prior to coming to SIUE. Dr. Huang has extensive experience in bridge design and load rating, development of Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composites, and the application of FRPs to civil engineering structures. In past years, he has worked on numerous bridge load rating and bridge rehabilitation projects, and has been heavily involved in the developments of State Bridge Design Manual and Load Rating Specifications.
